With the conclusion of our Annual Christmas Awards Party on Wednesday, our Club's year has drawn to a close. For the benefit of those who could not attend, a short summary of the Midweek Group's winners is being offered here:
Club Championship: Men's Low Gross Champion is Jim Coombs (85-85/170); Men's Low Net Champion is Will Hart (62-68/130); Women's Low Gross Champion is Barbara Conerly (195) and Women's Low Net Champion is Marie Hart (147). Their names have been engraved on the two beautiful trophies on display in the foyer of the clubhouse. Check them out.
Player of the Year: Barbara Conerly, Women's P.O.Y. and Willard Hart, Men's P.O.Y. Winning this award requires consistently good golf and near perfect attendance. They, too, got their names engraved on beautiful trophies permanently displayed in the clubhouse. The entire list of Midweek Group P.O.Y. points is attached to this email for your interest. Points awarded are 100 for attendance, plus 80 for 5th, 120 for 4th, 160 for 3rd, 260 for 2nd and 400 for first place, men and women. Men's CH's are adjusted to account for different tees being played.
This year, the club decided to honor the "Most Improved" golfers. No trophy for this new award, but a nice cash prize was awarded to Haruo Makimoto as the most improved player in the Midweek Group. The entire list of BCGC members whose handicaps showed improvement this year is attached to this email along with an explanation of how the numbers are derived.
