May 15, 2013 - Midweek Group Tournament Results

Twenty BCGC members met for another beautiful day for golf this year. We are on a roll! This was an individual medal play event and the course was in great shape for us.

Shirley Johnson brought her “A” game and fired a beautiful round of 87, net 63 to take the honors in the Ladies’ flight. Jean Chong and Marie Hart gave chase shooting 69 and 70, respectively, for second and third place.

In the Men’s “A” Flight, Jim Coombs led the way with an 84 gross, 66 net, followed closely by Haruo Makimoto’s 68 and Dave Travis’ 69. Ron McKenna and Will Hart battled it out in the Men’s “B” Flight tied at net 70, with Ron coming out on top by virtue of a card match. John Hawck came in third with a nice net 73. Good Shootin’ all of ya!

In the Closest to Pin competition at #17, Dave Travis (20’), Will Hart (7’6") and Kuniko Takeuchi (10’7”) won their respective flights. The Longest Putt prize went to Glen Kinion for 6’10” at #18.

An optional net Skins game was held with 10 participants scoring 5 net skins as follows: Mike McKenna’s birdie at #4, Ron McKenna had eagle @ #6 and also a net ace at #8, Haruo Makimoto birdied #10 and Don Sperling had a net ace at #17.

All in all, we had another great day of golf at Bartley Cavanaugh.
