The weekend group has a great kick off to the 2010 season on Feb. 13th. We had 24 players show up on a beautiful sunny day all trying to win the first tourney of the year. We broke the teams in to 2 categories: member/guest and member/member. The winner of the member/member group was Glen Kinion and Kevin Schultz with a net score of 75. Winner of member/guest group was Ray and John Reithmeir with a net score of 70! Good job guys! It was a great time all around…always love hanging around after hearing everyone’s stories! Hope to have this kind of turn out throughout the year!

Course and Weather Conditions:
Since having some pretty big storms a few weeks back…the course was pretty wet and muddy. A lot of red stakes where the rain had left huge puddles, greens were playing pretty fast (at least that was MY excuse!) The weather was absolutely beautiful, a little chilly in the morning, but then the sun was shining!

An awesome day…cold beers after and fun stories! Can’t wait to do it again next month! Hope to see you out there! Kim

HANDICAP CHAIR - Barbara Conerly
Welcome to 2010!

Have you noticed….NCGA is now calculating your handicap twice a month. Remember to post all your scores including 9 hole rounds. After each tournament, be sure to double check your scores, provide the date, and ensure the scorer signs the card. The card must also be attested and signed by another golfer in your group. At the end of each tournament turn your scorecards into the Tournament Chair. Make sure not to post your score as the Tournament Chair will take care of all postings.

2009 BCGC Christmas Party & General Mtg

The 2009 BCGC Christmas Party
Was a Great Success!!!

We had a full house at the Aviator Restaurant Wednesday night for the Club's Annual Christmas Dinner. The food, drink and desert were outstanding, and from the sounds of things, everyone had a great time.

The BCGC Board Members also provided a read out on 2009, and a glance into 2010. President Mark Edgar shared the Board's BOLD Goals for 2010 by following the 3E's:

EXPAND - exceed 100 members

EXPERIENCE - fun/competitive tournaments & social outings

ENJOY - relationships & friendships

Tournament Chairs Jim Coombs (Midweek) and Kim Volk (Weekend) presented awards to the Club Champions and Players of the Year.

Bob Volk (VP) dazzled the group with a fine selection of raffle prizes.

Jason Mangels (Newsletter) provided insight to using the BCGC Web Site and shared the preliminary publish dates (Jan., April, Aug. & Nov.) for the 2010 on-line issues of Tee Talk .

Treasurer Don Sperling is estimating we will finish the year with approximately the same bank balance as we started the year. He noted this was pretty good considering we had fewer members than in prior years.

Barbara Conerly (Handicap Chair) informed the group of a new change to HC Indexes, currently they are calculated once a month and this will change to twice a month in 2010.

Jeri Fong (Secretary) scribed notes from member comments and recommendations for review and consideration by the Board at the next Board Meeting.

A Very Special thanks to Pat Mar (Membership) for organizing another successful Christmas Party, a lot of effort went into the planning of this event, and it showed.
