April 18, 2012 - Midweek Group - Individual Stroke Play

Bob Thomas - Mid Week Tournament Chair
Thanks to all of you for coming out April 18th. I think it was a beautiful day for golf; clear, warm skies with a gentle breeze and low humidity. The course was in good shape with dry fairways and slow but smooth and true rolling greens.

We had 3 ladies and 14 men competing in 3 flights with the following results: Barbara Conerly was low net in the women's flight with a 67; Dick Carlsen was the class in the men's A flight shooting a smooth 76, net 66 and John Hawck continued his quest toward "most improved" member shooting a net 60! Mike McKenna also turned in a sterling 88, net 62. Nice shooting John and Mike.  Dick Carlsen was closest to the pin on #8 at 7'5" while Leon Taylor (Welcome Back!) got it to 7'3" on #17.

In our optional Net Skins game, Carlsen, Coombs, Schutt and Taylor all had one skin, while Ron McKenna and Bob Thomas both had 2 each.

I have attached details for the tournament, optional skins game and P.O.Y rankings to this email for those interested. Our next Midweek Tournament will be held May 16th, first tee at 8:57 AM. This will be more of the same; individual net stroke play and optional skins game.
